D.I.Y Attempt

I'm trying to learn how to sew, use the sewing machine and creating sewing patterns all over again. It's been awhile since I've done any projects involving the sewing machine.

The reason I'm trying to get back to it because some craft and DIY bloggers are amazing at it. They kind of reminded me of our Mama. Mama used to sew our costumes when we were in school. This included my first communion skirt and resizing the graduation dress that my older sister previously wore. My prom dress and senior graduation ball dress was no exception. I come from a city where not a  lot of boutiques are accessible. It's not in the people's lifestyle. And because we are seven children in the family, buying expensive clothes was out of the question. Going through these blogs made me think, Mama has been doing these kind of stuff for ages!

But I never had her skill. In high school, Computer class was the vocation I major in my 3rd Year and Technical Drafting in my final year. Sure, I can sew pillowcases. I remember making shorts and an apron somewhere in Grade school and Freshmen year. But I want to jump into the big leaguers. LOL!

So, I asked Mama if she has an extra large polo shirt that she can part with and not feel bad after I try to make sense out of it my own way or that I end up murdering (Yes, there is such a word..) the shirt.

I am my Mama's daughter.
